Kia ora neighbours! As we leave stage 4 of lock down behind we have become aware over the last month how much more of a local neighbourhood this place we call home has started to feel. We've absolutely loved seeing people walking and riding the local streets and have enjoyed chatting over the fence and making new acquaintances. We feel now more than ever the time is right for a community garden in our neighbourhood! And we've been taking any and every opportunity to share about it!

Progress Report

The application for a licence to occupy was lodged with Council a couple of weeks before lockdown and not surprisingly we were informed that Local Board workshops (and consequently public notification) have been postponed until lockdown is over. We understand that during this time our land use advisor has been drafting everything up ready for presentation once things return to business as usual...As always, good things take time... It will be worth the wait!

As we wait, we are looking for ways to capture the spirit of the community garden and have something to share with you... While you can't yet come to the community garden, the community garden can come to you! Free seedlings! Come and grab some - opposite the garden site at Seine Reserve. And if you have anything to share, feel free to use the space.
